Our Staff

  • Dr. hughey reynolds Senior pastor

I was born and reared on a farm in Lineville, AL, where my father was a tractor mechanic and Methodist preacher. I played sports throughout high school and graduated in 1974. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Birmingham-Southern College and seminary degrees at Emory University. Since 1973 I have served 9 different pastoral appointments, all in Alabama. Seeing people believe that they are saved by God’s grace and not by their own goodness energizes me to keep doing what I do! I married Sandy Jones in 1975. We have two, married sons and three grandsons.  I am an ardent gardener, and I advocate for and practice small-scale, sustainable farming. I work out at the gym most days before daylight. My favorite exercise is the handstand shoulder-press!

  • Rev. toby chastain Associate Pastor

I grew up in L.A. (Lower Alabama). My dad was a high school football coach, so we moved around quite a bit, yet I claim Samson as my hometown. I attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery where I answered my call to ministry and completed my graduate work at Memphis Theological Seminary. As an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, part of my job is to connect the church with the world outside our doors. I also have a passion for intentional discipleship through spiritual disciplines and small groups. In my spare time, you can find me cooking, playing golf, or watching Duke Basketball!

  • Jonathan Creekmore student Minister

I grew up in Meridian, MS. I first attended Meridian Community College, and I finished my bachelor's at Ole Miss. Hotty Toddy! I am currently in graduate school at Memphis Theological Seminary. I have worked in ministry for about 3 years now, and I love working with teenagers! My passion is to change and revitalize youth ministry! Our ministry is intentional and outward-reaching! Before I got into ministry, I was a chef! Most of all, I love being with people!

  • Dr. Tommy davis music director
